Manchester United are currently continuing to struggle in the Premier League, dropping to 15th after losing 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur.

The current injury crisis at the club led Amorim to travel to London for the fixture with a subs bench of fresh academy graduates, with only Victor Lindelof having Premier League experience.

Some of Amorim’s key men like Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo have all been side-lined through injury, restricting the Portuguese manager’s selections.

However, Amorim is remaining surprisingly confident despite the recent results.

Speaking to Sky Sports in a post-match conference, Ruben Amorim commented: “I have a lot of problems.”

He then elaborated, explaining: “My job is so hard but I am here to continue my job to the next week with my beliefs and I will try to win again.

“It is the hardest competition in the world. I am trying to be careful with them. I felt the team was pushing for the goal and I felt I don’t want to change. But they will play.

“I am here to help my players. I understand my situation, my job, I am confident on my work and I just want to win games.

“The place in the table is my worry, I am not worried about me.”

The confidence that Amorim continues to have, shows the faith that INEOS holds in him being the right man to turn things around.

The former Sporting Lisbon manager inherited a struggling squad, where £600 million was spent to assemble a team to a very different system to his playstyle.

Naturally the club was going to experience an adjustment period, which the club’s financial position has only made more difficult.

That said, the team have recently been seen on a tea bonding night in Altrincham to try and raise spirits to turn things around for the rest of the season.
