Ruben Amorim expressed his admiration for “amazing” away support from Manchester United following their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Lisandro Martinez’s deflected strike in the 78th minute secured the win, which marked United’s first clean sheet since November.
The win was United’s second away league victory since mid-September.
Despite a lackluster attacking display, United’s defensive organisation saw improvement, a positive takeaway for Amorim.
However, it was the unwavering backing from the traveling fans that truly stood out.
Throughout the match, United supporters filled the air with chants backing Amorim, along with songs critical of the Glazer and INEOS family ownership.

After the game, Amorim spoke to TNT Sports about the fans’ exceptional support:
“They deserve [the win]. It’s amazing. It’s not normal.
“I know you guys are used to this environment here, but it’s not normal, so congratulations to our fans.
“It’s a big privilege to work in this club and give them wins.
“We want to give them wins, and today we did it.”
Amorim acknowledged the match lacked quality but emphasised his satisfaction with both the result and the clean sheet.
He also stressed the importance of building on this momentum.
“Great support from our away fans, as always.
“Not a great game, you can feel it, no great chances.

“We tried to control the game, tried to play our game, but we need to improve a lot.
“But it’s really important to win now,” Amorim said.
“We didn’t suffer too much today, and that is a good sign.
“It’s not just the clean sheet, it’s the way we defend.
“Like I say, we need to improve a lot with the ball; without the ball, we were okay, controlled the game.
“We scored, and now we move on to the next game.
“Let’s take the feeling, work really hard tomorrow. We need to win the next one.”
The victory lifts some of the pressure on Amorim and United, but the Portuguese remains focused on improving performances to deliver more consistent results moving forward.
