The buzz around Manchester United’s pre-season preparations has intensified following an impressive tour in the United States.
While other Premier League sides continue to find their rhythm, United appear to have hit the ground running under Ruben Amorim’s guidance.
All eyes were on new signings Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, with fans eager to see how the pair would adapt to their new surroundings.
Fitness levels have been noticeably improved, with Amorim’s intense training sessions beginning to shape a sharper and more unified squad.
However, despite looking stronger physically and tactically, one persistent issue continues to linger — United’s lack of a ruthless edge in front of goal.
Even so, there was silverware to celebrate as Manchester United lifted the Premier League Summer Series trophy, a promising sign ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The Reds topped the mini pre-season tournament after beating both West Ham and Bournemouth before earning a 2-2 draw with Everton in the final fixture.
Amorim’s side demonstrated control, structure, and pressing intensity across in the first two matches, but that theme did not seem to continue in their final game against Everton.
A major talking point from the tour was the positive integration of summer signings.
Bryan Mbeumo impressed, while Matheus Cunha provided glimpses of his attacking threat despite United’s ongoing struggles in the final third.
These signs of progress didn’t go unnoticed.
Ruben Amorim, who continues to earn the respect of both players and pundits, was officially named Manager of the Tournament, capping off a strong start to his first full season in charge, as per Premier League USA via X.
Although pre-season results should always be taken with caution, there’s no denying the clear strides being made under Amorim’s leadership.
United may not be firing on all cylinders just yet, but the early groundwork has been laid — and with silverware already in the bag, the signs are pointing in the right direction.
