With the return of the Premier League this weekend, all eyes are on the Manchester Derby.
United have had a stuttering start in terms of results with the Grimsby Town defeat pegging them back, however, the attack has improved markedly and so has the chance creation.
When a defeat occurs, the entire world knows about it and the pressure increases ten fold, more so then with any other club in England.
On the face of it however, United played well vs Arsenal, could’ve beaten Fulham and sweated to beat Burnley in a game they really should’ve put to bed in the first half.
The Manchester Derby is always intriguing but with the season reaching an important moment, the stakes are high.
Injuries have been a problem for two seasons, the problems arose from when United played more than sixty games in 22/23.
Though the international break was timely to deal with players who were injured with Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount hobbling off vs Burnley, a big boost came when Noussair Mazraoui returned to action vs Burnley.
According to a report in the Manchester Evening News, Noussair Mazraoui suffered an injury vs Leeds United in pre-season and missed most of United’s start to the season but was kept out of Morocco’s team in the international break with Morocco’s manager Walid Regragui explaining his absence was for the best.
‘During the periods he was out due to injury, I had the opportunity to try other players. Now El Karouani will return after a strong start to the season. There will be a lot of competitiveness at full-back.’
Though some fans will be alarmed that Mazraoui is not fully up to speed with a spell away from the first eleven, it’s a positive to have a unique, versatile player who can play in different positions.
Mazraoui looked tired towards the end of last season, so it will give United a lift to have the Moroccan back.
