After a dismal campaign last season, finishing with Manchester United in 15th place in the Premier League and suffering a European final defeat to Spurs, Ruben Amorim urgently needs players to step up and deliver at the club.
For years, too many players at United have failed to perform, but if Amorim is to succeed as manager, he needs real quality and consistent performances sooner rather than later.
United remain focused on the transfer window.
Having already signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, the club is actively pursuing further additions to strengthen the squad across multiple areas.
However, while recruitment is essential, much of the responsibility still rests on the shoulders of key figures already within the team.
These players must rise to the challenge and play to the best of their ability next season, especially those who have been at the club for a long time and are considered experienced professionals.
United need strong personalities and true leaders in the dressing room to pull them through this difficult period and help restore pride at one of the biggest football clubs in the world.

One player Manchester United fans will be desperate to see performing regularly again is Luke Shaw.
Once considered one of the best full backs in the world, Luke Shaw has consistently suffered injury setbacks, struggling to maintain a regular place in the first team over the past few seasons.
According to The Telegraph, Amorim has spoken highly of Shaw, stating that he is “a world class defender if he can stay fit” and praising his ability on the ball and in one-on-one situations.
Shaw could feature either as a left centre back or as a wing back in Amorim’s system, and with United currently struggling in terms of ball progression and technical quality from deep areas, his return could be a significant boost.
Amorim also said, “He needs to train always to the limit. I think he’s doing that at the moment, so he’s a great player. He has competition this season, but I’m really pleased also with Luke.”
This may be Shaw’s last chance to truly prove his worth at Manchester United, but everyone connected with the club will be hoping he can rediscover his best form and become a key figure once again.
