Rotherham United have published their retained list following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season, confirming the departure of four players and a number of ongoing contract negotiations.
As per confirmation on their club website, Manchester United midfielder Dan Gore has returned to the club after an injury-hit loan spell in League One.
The 20-year-old’s season has been plagued by fitness issues, having missed several months with a shoulder injury before his January switch to Rotherham.

Gore was limited to just one appearance due to a further setback but returned for the final two matches following an agreement between both clubs – featuring off the bench over the weekend.
Gore’s future remains uncertain, with his current deal at Manchester United running until 2026.
A decision on whether he stays or leaves is expected this summer.
United are understood to be set on a permanent departure if a significant sell-on clause or buy-back option is included.
Part of INEOS’s wider strategy is to maintain long-term interest in the development of academy graduates, even when they seek more minutes elsewhere.

Meanwhile, four senior players – Andre Green, Alex MacDonald, Dillon Phillips and Jake Hull – will leave Rotherham this summer at the end of their contracts.
Young talents breaking out at United has been one thing Ruben Amorim certainly deserves praise for this season.
Harry Amass, Sekou Kone, Elyh Harrison, Jack Moorhouse, and Jack Fletcher have all been given opportunities.
As well as Tyler Fredricson.
Whether Gore manages to get an opportunity in the first team next season remains rather unlikely.
Amorim will be well aware of the need to get results.
Thus, having a team that isn’t overly reliant on experienced players will be huge.
