Rasmus Hojlund’s future at Manchester United looks increasingly uncertain after a disappointing 2024/25 season in which injuries and inconsistency derailed his progress.
The Danish striker, who arrived at Old Trafford with huge expectations in 2023, has failed to cement a regular place in the side.
His trajectory has only declined under Ruben Amorim.
Ominously, Hojlund has not featured in either of United’s opening two Premier League matches.
A clear indication that he is no longer central to the club’s plans, especially with recent arrival Benjamin Sesko standing in his way.
With United open to a sale, the 22-year-old appears to be edging towards the exit door as the transfer window nears its conclusion.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are pushing hard for his signature and have offered him a significant wage increase.
An increase rising from his current £2.8m salary to between £4m and £4.5m.
The Italian champions are exploring both a permanent deal and a loan with obligation to buy, and talks are now entering a decisive phase.
Napoli believe Hojlund can spearhead their attack following Romelu Lukaku’s injury and have sold him on the prospect of competing for the Scudetto and playing in the Champions League.
As well as developing alongside the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Scott McTominay.
McTominay, who has recently been in contact with Hojlund himself, pushing a move to Italy.
While Milan have also shown late interest, Napoli remain confident, with sporting director Giovanni Manna in constant contact with the player’s camp to stave off rival advances.
For Hojlund, the decision now lies between staying on the sidelines at Old Trafford, in hope of being given a final chance.
Or seizing the chance of a fresh start in Serie A with a considerable pay rise on the table.
A departure remains rather likely, with the focus of fans firmly on Sesko for the future.
