Over recent months, several current and former Manchester United players have attended court over a range of driving offences to be handed their sentencing.

Back in January 2025, current centre-back Harry Maguire was caught excessively speeding, going 85mph ina a 50mph zone, getting him a 56-day ban and £1,052 fine

Then in March, former United youngster Brandon Williams appeared in court over an offence from 2023 where he crashed his car after losing control driving at 99mph.

As such, the 24-year-old was handed a 14-month suspended sentence and a three-year ban from driving.

Now, United legend Paul Ince joins the list as he’s handed his sentence for drink-driving.

The BBC has reported that Ince appeared at Chester Magistrate’s Court today, admitting to drink driving on 28th June in Neston, Cheshire.

The 57-year-old arrived at court, signing an autograph and taking a selfie with a fan, this morning to hear the verdict of his offence.

As such, the former United star was handed a 12-month ban and fined £7,085, with district judge Jack McGarva commenting: “The message has got to be if you’re going to drive, you don’t drink at all.”

Ince played for United after joining the club from West Ham United in 1989, staying at Old Trafford for six years, the longest stint at any of his eight clubs.

Over this time, Ince made 281 appearances for The Red Devils, grabbing 29 goals and 19 assists from centre-midfield, helping them towards two Premier League titles, a UEFA Supercup win, two FA Cups, a UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, two FA Charity Shields and a League Cup.

After being a key part of Sir Alex Fergusons’ starting years at Old Trafford, Ince left United in 1995 to join Inter Milan, returning to England two years later, joining Liverpool with following stints with Middlesbrough, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Swindon Town and Macclesfield.
