Manchester United have finally recorded their first win in Europe with a 2-0 victory over PAOK.
The match was Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first European match in charge of The Red Devils, leading the team to much needed win.
Before the game, van Nistelrooy made the squad aware that United hadn’t won a European game at Old Trafford in a year, and it was time to change that. And change that they did.
The Red Devils had Amad Diallo to thank for his brace which secured his man-of-the-match award.
It’s understood that United are looking to lock down Amad’s future at United with contract negotiations aiming to be completed by January. It’s fair to say that this performance would definitely make the United bosses want to secure the deal as soon as possible.

But perhaps even more impressively, Amad managed to gain praise from the stony-faced Paul Scholes.
Paul Scholes praises Manchester United trio
The United legend has recently commented that three men caught his eye in the game against PAOK, with Amad being the obvious stand out.
Speaking to TNT Sport, Scholes commented: “He was excellent.”
He continued: “I think we said at half-time, he definitely looked the sharpest player on the pitch, and he went on to prove that in the second-half.
“He has been a little in and out this season but there is competition for places. Now, he has come in and he’s made a real stake for that position. And he probably deserves to play at the weekend now after that.”
The other two to receive praise from Scholes was the midfield partnership of Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte.
Being one of the top midfielders in United’s history, Scholes knows what he’s talking about when analysis midfielders’ performances, giving his praise even more importance.
Speaking about the midfield duo, Scholes commented: “I thought Casemiro was really good in there tonight.”
He continued: “Ugarte and Casemiro looks excellent. Probably one of the best games Casemiro has had in a United shirt. He played the position really well, much more controlled, defensively again with experience it felt comfortable.
“Casemiro and Ugarte, that could be the start of something. I think that gives Bruno more up the top end of the pitch.
“I didn’t really see PAOK scoring. Man United needed to be clinical and fortunately Amad was.”
United will now be going into their weekend game against Leicester with a spring in their step, hoping for another victory before Ruben Amorim arrives at Old Trafford.
