The summer transfer window has seen plenty of movement across Europe, with Premier League clubs keeping a close eye on marquee names returning to action after absences.

Players recovering from injuries or suspensions are creating opportunities for rivals and potential signings, as squads look to balance experience with fresh talent.

Manchester United have invested heavily in new acquisitions this summer, including Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko, while also navigating potential departures to fund further additions.

Meanwhile, former Premier League stars are making headlines with comebacks that could reshape the competitive landscape.

Fans are keen to see how high-profile returns influence their former clubs and the wider European scene.

Paul Pogba, the 32-year-old former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder, is stepping up his long-awaited return to football after an 18-month doping ban.

On Thursday morning, Paul Pogba trained with his new teammates at AS Monaco for the first time since joining the Ligue 1 side on a two-year deal at the end of June.

This marks the latest milestone in his journey back to professional football following his contract termination with Juventus and his absence from competitive action since September 2023.

The Frenchman will not be ready for the start of the season, however.

Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro confirmed during Pogba’s presentation that a three-month plan has been put in place to rebuild his fitness, targeting a return around the start of October.

The club emphasised a careful, step-by-step approach, ensuring that Pogba gradually reintegrates into full first-team action.

During Thursday’s session, Pogba participated in the warm-up alongside his Monaco teammates before moving on to a personalised individual training programme, as reported by Get French Football News.

This measured approach is designed to maximise his recovery while minimising the risk of setbacks.

For Manchester United supporters, Pogba’s return to fitness serves as a reminder of his influential years at Old Trafford, where he combined flair, power, and creativity in midfield.

While Monaco is now the setting for his next chapter, the Frenchman’s comeback will be closely watched, not just in Ligue 1, but by those tracking former Premier League stars who continue to make an impact on the European stage.
