Manchester United are all hands on deck preparing for the 2025/26 Premier League season as they’re set to host Arsenal this weekend.
The club are looking to bounce back from last season’s 15th place finish in the league, with major shifts already in place.
Before coming back to pre-season, each player who could feature this season was given a personalised conditioning plan by Ruben Amorim and his coaches.
Alongside this, players Amorim doesn’t want to use have been exiled to individual training, with United prioritising moves away for them.
Already United’s attacking line have a new set of faces with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko joining the club.
Now, to mark the new season starting, being Amorim’s first full season in charge, The Athletic has reported that Omar Berrada called a meeting on the indoor training pitch at Carrington.
It’s understood that Berrada, Jason Wilcox, Marc Armstrong and Ruben Amorim assembled to give an overview of the summer and set out some new club directives.
The club’s chief executive officer set out some new principles for the club, whilst also identifying players like Eric Cantona and Roy Keane as two examples of legends who possessed an uncompromising and combustible style.
The principles of “bravery, badge and spirit” were unveiled, with the staff given a QR code link to anonymously answer what they need to be able to deliver on these principles.
Whilst answers such as “integrity” and “collaboration” were given, others took the opportunity to call out Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting measures implemented over the last year.
