Manchester United’s plans for a new era have been in motion for some time – and it all starts at Carrington.

The club’s £50million training ground renovation has been one of INEOS’ key projects since their arrival, with first-team players having used academy facilities for the past year.

Since Ruben Amorim’s appointment, his squad have trained in the youth section while the senior base underwent a full transformation aimed at turning Carrington into a modern, world-class performance centre.

More than just football facilities have been added.

The new-look complex is reported to include a barbers – the first known of its kind at a UK training ground.

As well as upgraded gyms, cryogenic chambers, a revamped pool, and an open-plan second floor to encourage collaboration between club departments.

And now, the club have dropped a short teaser on X confirming that something is “coming soon” on 08 August.

The date, which is planned to be the grand unveiling of the revamped Carrington facility.

The post reads: “Carrington: where our new era begins. Coming soon… 🗓️” alongside a video of birds eye view over Carrington, teasing the new training ground’s launch.

The new Carrington features a ‘flow system’ design with players moving between changing rooms, medical areas, gym and pitch in the optimal order.

Facilities also include a high-quality canteen and enhanced recreational zones – part of a wider plan to keep players on-site longer and foster a better team environment.

The project has been led by Foster + Partners, the firm behind Manchester United’s proposed new stadium plans, a 100,000-seat covered arena Sir Jim Ratcliffe hopes will be the best in world football.

But before attention turns to that, Carrington is first in line for a revolution.

United face Fiorentina in their final pre-season friendly on August 10, after which they’ll prepare for their Premier League opener against Arsenal on August 17 – with a brand new home base ready just in time.
