All the talk surrounding Manchester United has been around the challenges the senior team will face next season.
And expectedly so, as pressure continues to build on Ruben Amorim.
However, it’s not just the senior team that have a challenging campaign in store.
The National League Cup is back for its second edition – and anticipation is already building ahead of next month’s kick-off.
The competition, designed to pit National League sides against top Premier League and EFL U21 outfits, has quickly become a valuable platform for player development across all levels.

Now, Manchester United’s group-stage opponents for the 2025/26 campaign have officially been confirmed, as per the National League website.
Travis Binnion’s Under-21s are placed in Group A alongside Morecambe, Rochdale, Solihull Moors, and Tamworth.
All four matches will be played away from home, giving United’s youngsters a stern test against seasoned senior sides from the top tier of non-league football.
The other clubs in Group A – Blackburn Rovers, Burnley, and Everton are also involved.
However, they will not face United during the group phase.

Opening fixtures are scheduled to take place around 12/13 August.
Exact dates are set to be announced in due course.
The Red Devils will also have an early look at one of their opponents when they face Rochdale in a pre-season friendly on Saturday 2 August.
A rematch of last season’s cup clash which drew a record crowd of 3,681 at the Crown Oil Arena.
Leeds United are the defending champions, and the top two sides in each of the four groups will advance to the knockout stage.
United officially entered the competition back in September 2024.
The Red Devils will be hoping to have success in the competition – it poses to be a great experience for all youngsters involved.
