Nani played for Manchester United from 2007 to 2015, making 230 appearances and scoring 41 goals.
His time at Old Trafford was very successful, marked by winning the Champions League and four Premier League titles.
Known for his incredible wing play and flair, Nani was a key player in the late 2000s and early 2010s, notably having his standout season in 2010-11 when he was named the Players’ Player of the Year and topped the league in assists.
He went back on loan to Sporting in 2014-15 before leaving United permanently for Fenerbache the following season.
He also played for Valencia, Lazio, Sporting a third time, Orlando City, Venezia, Melbourne Victory, Adana Demirspor and finally Estrela Amadora.
At the international level, Nani scored 24 goals in 112 caps and won Euro 2016.

Nani took to social media on Saturday evening to insist that the result was secondary to the pride he felt representing the club again for the special clauses.
He wrote on Instagram: “My debut with the Manchester United Legends, in a special match with an even greater purpose. More than the result, it was about giving.
“Proud to wear this special jersey again with some good friends. Thank you to everyone who came out!”
With goals from Darren Fletcher and Dimitar Berbatov, United led 2-0 at halftime and had a team full of renowned names for the match.
But in the second half, the Glasgow team rallied with a fast-paced brace from Scott McDonald and Shaun Maloney that resulted in penalties.
Lee Naylor scored the game-winning penalty to send the Glasgow supporters home pleased as the Reds lost the shootout 4-3.
