Many believe that Ruud van Nistelrooy will replace Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager if he is sacked.
However, the bookmakers have included many other club legends in their odds for who will become United’s next permanent manager.
Names like Kieran McKenna and even Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have been mentioned.
Van Nistelrooy is certainly the most likely successor, but another United legend has been mentioned in these talks.

Michael Carrick may be named the next United manager if Erik ten Hag is sacked, according to former chief of Everton Keith Wyness.
Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness explained that he believes Sir Jim Ratcliffe will choose Carrick over a big name manager.
“There are various rumours whether they will go for like a Thomas Tuchel or will it be a Michael Carrick and have more of a managerial coach type situation rather than a Tuchel type bigger name,” Wyness noted.
“I think they might go for the second route and try and get the Man United ethos back to what it was before with an ex-player like Carrick managing the squad.”
“He’s proven to be a very good manager, so that’s where I think they may go.”
“But no one knows at the moment which way Ratcliffe is going to jump,” he said.

Carrick already had a spell as United interim manager in 2021 after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking.
In three games, he led United to two wins and one draw in a sequence of unforgiving fixtures.
Under Carrick, United beat Arsenal 3-2 and drew 1-1 to Chelsea in the Premier League, as well as beating Villarreal 3-2 in the Champions League.
Carrick also took Middlesborough from 21st in the Championship to 4th in his first season.
His managerial record is certainly impressive and cannot be ignored by INEOS and Sir Jim.
