Mason Mount has been hit with yet another injury, with him already having an extensive period on the Manchester United side-lines.

Mount has already missed 30 games through injury, having sustained a calf injury last November, ruling him out of most of the season, only returning in March.

Despite starting the season, preparing for the third game of this Premier League campaign, Mount was ruled out with a hamstring injury. Unfortunately, this meant that the midfielder missed a vital match against Liverpool as well as United’s 3-0 win over Southampton.

The 25-ear-old returned to face Tottenham, however, a knock to the head resulted in Mount being substituted, side-lining him for another seven games.

Since Ruben Amorim’s arrival, Mount has had limited game time, however, was selected to start in the new manager’s first very Manchester Derby.

However, the occasion didn’t go to plan for Mount, being taken off only 14 minutes into the game.

Mason Mount sustains another injury

After the match, Amorim praised the midfielder and commented on the injury, saying: “Yeah, he really fits our style,”

He continued: “He will continue to fit because he’s a very good player. Also, outside of the pitch, he is the kind of character I want in this team and we want as a club in this team.

“He has a movement, it’s not like something he made a sprint. He made a movement and stretched his leg and felt something.

“It’s bad luck, nothing with the problem of the body of Mason Mount. It was a bad movement and he is going to recover because we need him.”

Now, ahead of United’s Carabao Cup fixture with Tottenham Hotspur, Ruben Amorim has given an update on Mount’s situation.

The Portuguese manager commented: “Mason Mount is not available, he has an injury.”

Whilst this update doesn’t give much away about the injury as such, it does confirm that it’s more serious than first thought.
