One of these five, Marcus Rashford, now is set to join Barcelona.
Barcelona and United have agreed a deal for a loan with a €30 million option to buy for the forward, with a penalty clause in case Barcelona don’t trigger the buy option.
Although United would have preferred a permanent deal for Rashford, Barcelona have agreed to cover 100% of his wages during the loan deal.
This will save United £17 million throughout the season, providing the financial freedom to help with additional signings this summer.

Marcus Rashford has now been seen arriving in Barcelona ahead of his move to Spain as reported by Fabrizio Romano, via X.
He is now set to complete his medical in Spain before the deal is officially confirmed by both clubs.
Although Rashford now looks to be on his way out, United will be hoping he thrives during his loan spell.
Not only will they hope the buy option is triggered, helping raise funds and avoid a repeat of the Jadon Sancho situation, where Chelsea decided to pay the penalty clause to prevent a permanent move.
But Rashford has also been at the club for over 20 years, so all parties will be wishing him success in Spain.
