The football world is still reeling from the tragic passing of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva, who lost their lives in a devastating car accident in Cernadilla, Spain earlier this month.

Jota, who had only recently undergone a minor operation, was advised not to fly and was instead driving from Portugal to Santander when the fatal crash occurred.

He had planned to catch the ferry back to Liverpool ahead of pre-season.

Their deaths have left a profound hole in both the Portuguese national team setup and the global football community.

Tributes have been pouring in from across Europe.

Just last week, emotional funeral services were held in Portugal, attended by close family, teammates, and loved ones.

As the mourning continues, Ruben Amorim, along with Portuguese duo Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot, have visited Anfield to pay their respects, as per the Manchester Evening News.

Images shared by Liverpool’s official Instagram page on Monday afternoon showed the United trio laying flowers and observing the many tributes left for the former Reds and Wolves star.

Dalot was pictured placing a floral wreath with a note reading: “Rest in peace, Diogo and Andre.

“With deepest condolences from everyone at Manchester United.”

Both Fernandes and Dalot had been offered an extended break from pre-season training by United following the tragedy.

However, they chose to report back to Carrington last Thursday as originally scheduled.

The heartfelt tribute from United’s camp comes just a day after Liverpool returned to the pitch, beating Preston North End 3-1 in their first match since Jota’s passing.
