The 2024/25 season has seen several Manchester United players depart on loan in search of more regular game time and to further their development.

Among the notable departures was Brazilian winger Antony, who secured a temporary move away from Old Trafford. Antony, struggling to secure a consistent place in United’s starting lineup, opted to join a Real Betis.

Antony was hoping to make the Brazilian team for the upcoming international break but he was snubbed this time around.

Marcus Rashford, now on loan at Aston Villa, and looks set to leave Manchester United at the end of this season, is thriving with Villa.

Marcus Rashford is now set to make his return to the England squad under new manager Thomas Tuchel, who is preparing to announce his first roster ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualification campaign, as per David Ornstein.

Rashford, who has not been called up since March 2024, will be included after a year-long absence, a decision likely influenced by his strong form since joining Aston Villa on loan in January.

The 27-year-old forward had expressed a desire for a fresh challenge, leading to his loan move to Villa until the end of the season.

Since arriving at Villa Park, Rashford has been in excellent form, registering three assists in his first four starts.

His impact has been significant, particularly in Villa’s midweek Champions League clash against Club Brugge, where he set up Marco Asensio for a crucial goal, helping Villa progress to the quarter-finals.

This form has not only boosted his confidence but also made a compelling case for his inclusion in the England squad.

Aston Villa have an option to make Rashford’s move permanent for around £40 million in the summer, and his current performances suggest he could make the switch permanent.

His return to the national team fold marks a positive chapter in his career after a challenging period at Manchester United, where his future had been uncertain.

Rashford’s return to the fold, alongside emerging talents like Myles Lewis-Skelly and seasoned performers like Dan Burn, signals a refreshing new era for the Three Lions as they prepare for the long road to 2026.
