One of Manchester United’s star players is set to appear in court today after being caught speeding, adding to the defender’s current issues.
United are suffering at the moment, with Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Harry Maguire all out injured. They are set to return after the international break at the earliest.
Shaw and Malacia have both been out of action since last season, slowly making a recovery to get back into the fight for first-choice left-back. Leny Yoro on the other hand is still yet to make his competitive debut for the club having arrived in the summer and breaking his metatarsal on the pre-season tour.
Then there’s Maguire who picked up a muscle injury last month and is still recovering.
It’s the English centre-back that has added to his woes thanks to his second driving offence in two years.
Last year, Maguire was sent a penalty notice after being caught driving his 150mph Land Rover Ranger Rover at 68mph in a 60mph zone on the A616 near Sheffield.

For the offence, the centre-back was ordered to pay a £1208 fine, which consists of a £ 670 fine plus a £268 victim surcharge and £90 in legal fees. Three points were also added to his licence.
Harry Maguire appears in court for second driving offence
Now, the centre-back has been caught driving the same Land Rover Range Rover SUV D over the 50mph speed limit by Manchester Airport.
The court sheet for the offence read: ”Mr Harry Jacob Maguire. Exceeded 50 mph speed limit in contravention of a Local Traffic Order – manned equipment. On 5.3.2024. at Manchester drove a motor vehicle, namely Land Rover Range Rover SUV D, on a road, namely A538 Wilmslow Road near to Mill Lane, Ringway, , subject of a local traffic order, namely Manchester City Council City of Manchester (Speed Limits) (A538 Wilmslow Road) Order 2018 , at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour.
”Contrary to the above local traffic order and sections 84 and 89(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.”
It’s unsure at this time what the penalty will be this time or the true speed he was caught doing, however no doubt more details will emerge shortly.
