Manchester United are going through a rough period, with years of financial mismanagement putting strain on the club’s finances.
As such, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has implemented a series of cost-cutting measures to ease the pressures on the club.
One of these measures has been a mass set of redundancies.
When Ratcliffe and INEOS took over operations at the club, United had 1112 members of staff. Since then, 250 have been cut, with a further 200 set to follow them.
However, now it’s been revealed the extent of the unexpected support that has been offer to those made redundant.

Former Manchester United staff supported by Red Devils from past and present
The Telegraph has reported that both current and former Manchester United stars have rallied round and contacted the sacked members of staff, seeking to comfort them.
It’s know that former Red Devils like Eric Cantona, David Beckham, Juan Mata and David de Gea are some of the ex-players to support the offloaded staff, making phone calls to check in on them.
Alongside them, Bruno Fernandes, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton have also made effort to support the former members of staff.
The report went on to explain that an anonymous Hollywood A-lister has also offered to provide employment references for the staff who have lost their jobs after forming relationships with the staff across the club’s numerous trips to the USA.
Whilst former United chief David Gill and legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson have also been a part of the cuts under INEOS’ reign, the pair have also expressed concern for the staff dispatched from the club.
