Manchester United are already looking forward to the summer with the recruitment team focusing on young talent with incredible development potential.

The strategy was implemented last summer, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe wanting Carrington to become the main hub of developing young talent in world football.

Recent signings like Diego Leon, Patrick Dorgu, Leny Yoro, Chido Obi-Martin and Ayden Heaven have all shown United’s intent to make this ambition a reality.

However, United aren’t stopping now. Whilst the club looked like they might miss out on “the next Martin Odegaard”, with Sverre Halseth Nypan travelling to Manchester to hear out an offer from Manchester City, the Norwegian decided to stay with his hometown club of Rosenborg at least until the summer.

With Nypan still a potential on the cards, United are also looking much closer to home, having set scouts out to a recent Championship match

The youngster has been billed as the best talent to come out of the Championship since Jude Bellingham, with a host of Premier League clubs keen on signing the midfielder.

Rigg has been on United’s radar since the summer, with the United recruitment team keeping a close eye on the situation surrounding him.

The 17-year-old has been highlighted by The Red Devils as a prime target, especially with the financial pressures the club are facing.

Limited transfer budgets mean that the club need to be much more intelligent with their spending, with Rigg presenting an opportunity to sign a talented youngster at a reasonable price, offering a potential sell-on option.

However, it’s unknown if United would be looking to the star to develop for the first-squad or as a potential future sale to help out the club’s finances.
