Manchester United are stepping up preparations ahead of their Europa League semi-final clash with Athletic Club in Bilbao this week.
Ruben Amorim’s side returned to Carrington on Monday following a weekend off, with focus turning firmly to their Europa League match against Athletic Bilbao.
After narrowly edging past Lyon in the previous round, the Reds are now two games away from a shot at silverware and automatic Champions League qualification.
Several first-team regulars were spotted during Monday’s session, and all eyes will now be on Amorim’s team selection for the midweek trip to Spain.
The game will be held at San Mames — the same venue that will host the final — making Thursday’s match a dress rehearsal of sorts.
The training ground atmosphere was noticeably lifted by the sight of three key players making their returns from injury, providing Amorim with a timely boost as the business end of the season approaches.

Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt both took part in full training on Monday — not just the open media session, but the entire workout — for the first time since picking up respective injuries, as per Ryan Pixels on X.
Amad had been sidelined since early February after suffering ankle ligament damage during a training incident, but the 22-year-old winger has recovered well and is now in contention for selection.
De Ligt, meanwhile, has completed his return from a foot injury sustained in early April.
The Dutch defender had been nursing the issue for several weeks and missed key fixtures in both domestic and European competition.
However, his full involvement in training is a sign that he could feature against Athletic Club if he travels with the squad.
Also back on the Carrington turf was young midfielder Toby Collyer, who has resumed light individual work after a leg injury he picked up in the same week as De Ligt.
While not yet reintegrated into the main group, Collyer’s progress is encouraging as he eyes a return before the season’s end.
Jaydan Kamason and Bendito Mantato was seen to be involved in training as well.
With the squad’s depth now improving, Amorim will be hopeful of a strong showing in Bilbao, as United continue their push for silverware and look to end the campaign on a high.
🚨 Can confirm both Amad and De Ligt are back in FULL training, not just the open training session!
It is still to be confirmed whether they will travel with the squad to Bilbao but the signs are positive. pic.twitter.com/U5L3PF7yhp
