Adding to the woes, Luke Shaw is expected to remain out of action for at least another month following a significant setback.

The situation took another troubling turn when right-back Noussair Mazraoui underwent surgery after experiencing heart palpitations.

Initial concerns suggested the Morocco international could be facing a prolonged period away from the pitch due to a serious illness.

However, updates indicate the issue is less severe than initially feared.

Earlier this week, Manchester United confirmed that Noussair Mazraoui had “precautionary” heart surgery.

The club anticipates his recovery will span a few weeks, providing a glimmer of hope for a defense already stretched thin.

Reports also suggest that Mazraoui aims to return to the field “in the next few weeks,” according to The Athletic.

Morocco’s national team manager, Walid Regragui, addressed the speculations surrounding Mazraoui’s health, offering a reassuring update.

“Noussair does not suffer from any serious problem as was reported, and he is aware of that,” Regragui stated during a press conference.

“We received a special medical report, and we spoke with the player, who confirmed that his injury is not serious. [It] is a minor injury.

“God willing, he will be present with us during the next international camp in November.”

The expected return of Noussair Mazraoui before the November international break comes as a welcome boost for Erik ten Hag.

With crucial fixtures on the horizon that could influence his future at Old Trafford, the reinforcement is timely.

Left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are also nearing comebacks, providing additional options for the beleaguered defense.

Center-back Leny Yoro is making steady progress in recovering from a foot injury sustained during pre-season.

However, the team will have to manage without Harry Maguire for several weeks after he picked up an injury in the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa.

The series of injuries places additional pressure on Ten Hag to navigate the upcoming period successfully.

The manager will be relying on the depth of his squad to maintain form and competitiveness in both domestic and international competitions.
