Manchester United are preparing for their first leg of the Europa League Semi-Final against Athletic Club this week as they aim to book their slot in the final.

Athletic Club have recently taken to Instagram to remind their fans of their last win over United which came in the 2012 Europa League in a bid to rally the supporters for their home fixture.

Posting a video of highlights of the game on their social media, the club commented: “We already know what it’s like to beat Manchester United in San Mames.

“The Lions surpassed [United] in 2012 with goals from [Fernando] Llorente and [Oscar] De Marcos.

“Let’s do it again on Thursday, Athletic!”

However, alongside the LaLiga side’s rallying cry, The Red Devils have been handed a huge blow in the form of Athletic Club’s available squad.

The Times has reported that star man Nico Williams is back to full fitness ahead of the game.

The winger has recently been ruled out with a groin injury however, will re-join the team for their match-up with United.

Williams has been a true star for the LaLiga side this season with 11 goals and seven assists in 43 games, helping hold the club in fourth place in the league.

Whilst the Spain international missed Athletic’s recent match with Real Madrid through injury, he came off the bench against Las Palmas, giving hope for a return for Thursday’s European fixture.

Thankfully for Amorim, Athletic will still be without Oihan Sancet due to his recent muscle damage, meaning the LaLiga side won’t be back to full strength.
