Manchester United have received another huge injury blow with one of their stars on international duty.
During the November international break, most of United’s first team squad have been with their national teams, either with the UEFA Nations League, Africa Cup of Nations or the South American World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
Already Lisandro Martinez has withdrawn from international duty with Argentina.
The centre-back is reportedly missing the World Cup qualifiers due to an injury sustained against Leicester last week.
Martinez made it through the whole 90 minutes, seemingly unscathed, making the news a little confusing.
It’s now been released that the issue appears to be with his lower back, with the defender set for further assessments at Carrington over the coming week.

However, United now have another one of their stars to add to their injury list this international break.
Victor Lindelof injured against Slovakia
Today, Victor Lindelof has started for Sweden as they take on Slovakia in their penultimate game in the UEFA Nations League.
Viktor Gyokeres has continued his run of form but grabbing the lead for Sweden in the third minute, linking up with Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.
However, Sweden’s luck soon changed with Feyenoord’s David Hancko drawing the teams even.
Not long after, Sweden found themselves relying on one of their substitute’s early.
Lindelof was taken off in the 26th minute, replaced by Celta Vigo’s Carl Starfelt.
The centre-back was seen being supported to hobble off the pitch by the Swedish physio team, clearly in pain.
Initial reports are suggesting that it’s an issue with his hamstring, which hopefully won’t be as bad as first thought.
The timing couldn’t be worse for Lindelof, with Amorim favouring a back three made of centre-backs.
This change in formation gives the Sweden international an extra slot to fight for in the starting line-up. However, with Leny Yoro returning from injury, Martinez picking up a knock, and Lindelof now potentially side-lined, Amorim may struggle to fill his back line ready for Ipswich on the 24th November.
