Alongside tactical reshuffles and training ground drills, there’s always one reveal that gets supporters talking — the latest kit drop.

This time, Adidas have gone for a bold, nostalgic touch with the release of Manchester United’s 2025/26 away kit.

United revealed the new shirt via X, which brings a fresh yet familiar look, reviving memories of the classic 1990–92 away strip with a modern twist.

White and light lavender dominate the base of the kit, while bold dark purple accents — officially called ‘Dark Plum’ — give it edge and contrast.

Most striking is the snowflake-inspired pattern stretched across the shirt.

While the original early-90s kit featured small snowflakes, this version enlarges the design, giving it a more prominent and contemporary flair.

It’s not the first time Adidas has dipped into United’s snowflake legacy.

Similar inspirations appeared in the 2015/16 third kit and the 2017/18 away strip.

More recently, the 2024/25 away kit introduced snowflakes forming an ‘M’ shape.

Jurgen Rank, senior design director at adidas, said: “For this season’s away jersey we wanted to reimagine one of the club’s most iconic graphics of the past, and reinterpret it for the modern day in a bold new way through an updated colour palette.

“The rich purples work in harmony with the white base and metallic detailing, and we’re excited to see it on-pitch and in the stands this season.”

This latest release opts for an overlapping V-neck collar and features the standalone devil logo instead of the full club crest, a sleek nod to minimalism and heritage.

The accompanying shorts come in the same Dark Plum shade, ensuring the full strip is cohesive and visually striking.

Fans can expect to see this kit on full display during United’s upcoming summer friendlies, where fresh faces and emerging talent will likely feature in this new look.

A kit rooted in history, delivered with a modern punch — Manchester United’s 2025/26 away kit could be one for the collectors.
