Manchester United are suffering with a spate of injuries, ruling out a considerable amount of their top stars.

Lisandro Martinez, Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo have all been side-lined, with Martinez and Amad set to miss the rest of the season.

Whilst Martinez has already undergone surgery on his torn ACL, Diallo is awaiting his turn to go under the knife for his damaged ankle ligament.

However, this trio aren’t the only United stars to be missing first team football.

Last month, Rotherham United sealed a loan deal with United for young midfield Dan Gore, with his start to life in League One looking promising.

Gore came off the bench in Rotherham’s 2-1 loss to league leaders Birmingham, setting up Sam Nombe for a goal.

However, in a subsequent training session, Gore suffered an injury which has seen him return to Carrington for assessment.

Now, Manchester United have assessed the injury, announcing it as damage to a bone in the foot.

Whilst the United academy are working with Rotherham to ensure Gore’s return to the League One side before the end of the season, it doesn’t take away from Gore’s disappointment at being side-lined.

In a statement discussing his injury issued by Manchester United, Gore was reported as being “absolutely gutted” to be requiring treatment.

The midfielder commented: “Having loved the start to my time here and been made to feel so welcome by everyone at the club, I am absolutely gutted to have picked up an injury.”

He continued: “Everyone who knows me knows that I would play through any pain if I physically could, but unfortunately, I need to take a few weeks out. I’ll be giving everything to get back as soon as possible to contribute to the team and be able to play in front of the fans again.”
