He previously worked in senior roles at several Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, Newcastle United and Bolton Wanderers, overseeing player development and cutting-edge recruitment strategies.
Salford co-owners believe his arrival marks a significant turning point in their project to take the club up the English football pyramid.
Gary Neville was especially enthusiastic about the appointment, telling the club’s media team: “Gavin is exactly the kind of leader we’ve been looking for – strategic, passionate, and forward-thinking.
“His belief in the Club’s potential is only matched by his determination to make things happen.
“We’ve got big goals at Salford City, and with Gavin at the helm, we’re confident we can deliver on them.”
While Manchester United’s top brass look to reshape operations under Sir Jim Ratcliffe, their legends are proving they still have the magic touch when it comes to building footballing success.
With Fleig in charge and Neville and Sir David Beckham steering from the boardroom, Salford’s rise could mirror the ambition once seen at Old Trafford.
