Manchester United were given the night off as the Europa League continued on Thursday 20th February 2025, with the first round of the knock-out stages.
The Red Devils finished the league phase unbeaten, in third of 36, booking their slot in the last 16.
Now, after the first round has finished, United can see who they could be facing in their first taste of this season’s Europa League Knock-out stages.
Tonight saw the second leg of AZ Alkmaar against Galatasaray, with the Dutch side going in with the advantage of a 4-1 first-leg win.
After full-time, the teams were drawn at 2-2, sending Az into the next round.
Elsewhere Real Sociedad were hosting FC Midtjylland after winning the first-leg 2-1.
However, the Spanish side didn’t let up in the second round, going on to win 5-2 for an aggregate win of 7-3.
Now, the pair of victors will be finding out which will be facing Manchester United tomorrow, as the draw for the next round of fixtures is being held at 12:00 GMT.
