The England team have officially won the 2025 Women’s Euros, defeating Spain on penalties in a thrilling final.
Spain took the lead after 25 minutes through Mariona Caldentey, with the Spanish side looking dominant and creating numerous dangerous chances throughout the first half.
However, England grew into the game after the break, with former Manchester United forward Alessia Russo scoring the equaliser 12 minutes into the second half.
The match finished 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes, and extra time was largely controlled by Spain, who created several promising openings but struggled to convert their chances, sending the match to a penalty shootout.
England then triumphed in the shootout, with Chloe Kelly calmly slotting home the winning spot-kick, ensuring that England would retain the Euros trophy.

Manchester United have now issued an official statement on X, sending their congratulations to the three United players involved in England’s victorious Euro 2025 squad.
The statement read, “We were supporting you all the way – sending a massive congrats to Tooney, Grace and Maya.”
This refers to Ella Toone, Grace Clinton, and club captain Maya Le Tissier, all of whom played a part in England’s historic tournament win.
United will now be hoping the trio can enjoy their celebrations before returning to club football full of confidence and hunger for more silverware.
