Unfortunately for Erik ten Hag, it looks as though he may have to adjust his plans for the pre-season tour, with one of his stars suffering through injury.

United have already kicked off their pre-season friendlies against Norwegian side Rosenborg where the Red Devils were defeated 1-0.

The game showcased a young United squad made up of a number of the recently promoted academy graduates including the likes of Ethan Williams, Toby Collyer, Harry Amass and Ethan Wheatley.

United have another friendly on Sunday against Rangers before they look to go further afield.

The Red Devils are beginning preparations to head to the United States ahead of their pre-season tour in America. Their first game in the USA is against Arsenal in Los Angeles.

However, it looks as though ten Hag may have to revise his squad for the tour.

Exciting prospect Will Fish having suffered an injury to his foot in the Rosenborg game.

Fish is hot off of his loan spell at Hibernian where he’s been regarded as United’s most successful loan of the season.

The defender quickly made his way into the Hibs starting line-up in the season.

The centre-back went on to make 45 appearances for the Scottish club becoming a vital squad member at the heart of defence.

Commenting on the first pre-season game, ten Hag said: “I think there were many bad tackles first half.”

He continued: “They stopped really big opportunities when we went in counter attacks and got some big knocks. But as I see it now, they will recover for training tomorrow.”

Another factor that may effect Fish’s selection is that he’s currently receiving a lot of transfer interest from Championship level clubs, although the decision on his future at United has not been made yet to know if the Premier League club would entertain any offer.
