Manchester United’s goalkeeper situation has been one of uncertainty for a while now.

The Red Devils have been actively pursuing a goalkeeper all summer.

They have now seemingly found their man in Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens.

A deal is close with personal terms close and the Belgian is pushing for a move.

This has raised questions on the future of Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana.

Andre Onana wasn’t in the squad vs Arsenal last week but is in the travelling squad for Fulham today.

Altay Bayindir, on the other hand, started against Arsenal and could potentially start again today.

With Lammens coming in, it felt almost inevitable that one of the two would depart.

Tom Heaton is also another option in the goalkeeping position.

And now an update has appeared regarding the goalkeeper situation and the futures of the goalkeepers.

According to GiveMeSport, Manchester United’s pursuit of Lammens is not expected to impact the immediate future of Andre Onana, who is still expected to stay at Old Trafford as the club’s No.1 goalkeeper.

It also mentions that Altay Bayindir is also likely to remain at Old Trafford even if Lammens arrives, at least until January.

This is partly down to the fact Andre Onana will miss the festive period due to his participation with Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Lammens was included in the senior Belgium squad for the League play-off games against Ukraine in March.

Lammens has nine caps for Belgium’s under-21 team.

He has played for Antwerp more than fifty times, including forty-four last season.

In his age group, Lammens is thought to be one of the most promising goalkeepers.

The Red Devils will be happy with the signing of the Belgian especially given their current goalkeeper’s struggles.
