Manchester United are planning a mass overhaul this summer with this season’s only declining further from last year’s eighth-place finish.
The poor results saw Erik ten Hag be sacked in October 2024, with Ruben Amorim taking his place.
he only trouble is that United had spent £600 million across two and a half years to fit to ten Hag’s tactics, which differ greatly to Amorim’s.
Now, with no transfer funds allocated to the squad due to financial mismanagement and nothing to show for the costly signings, Amorim has to fit his current squad to his preferred style which he refuses to budge on.
Whilst some of the squad have stepped up, with Patrick Dorgu being a fantastic addition to the squad so far after his signing in January, some stars are continuing to struggle.
One such star is striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Manchester United’s concern about offloading Rasmus Hojlund
Give Me Sport has revealed there’s a real fear amid the club that they won’t be able to offload Hojlund this summer after spending £64 million on his services in 2023.
The Danish striker has now made his 16th goalless appearance in a row across all competitions, only grabbing seven goals and one assist across 33 games.
So far this season, Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo have all scored more than the striker, with Marcus Rashford currently matching his number of goals before going on loan to Aston Villa in nine less games.
Not only this, but veteran midfielder and routine substitute Christian Eriksen has also had just as many goal contributions as Hojlund this season in 13 less games.
With his recent inability to score, not only are the coaches losing patience with the striker, it’s understandable why there are fears that United won’t be able to find suitors for their failing striker.
If they do manage to sell the striker this summer, it’s undoubtedly going to be at a loss, with the striker only grabbing two league goals this Premier League campaign.
