The wearing of this shirt was brought to the attention of City by a fan on X who called the situation a “absolute joke.”
Following this tweet, City’s official fan support account wrote on the platform stating “thank you for making us aware of this. We can confirm that this individual has now been removed from their position.”
The occurring of this incident arguably shows the extent the two sets of supporters will go to when they want to ‘wind’ each other up.
Furthermore, the incident arguably will tighten the recruitment process of stadium bar staff for matchdays at the Etihad Stadium in the future.
