Manchester United are suffering a bit of an injury crisis at the moment, with Ruben Amorim having to rely on some of his academy graduates just to make up numbers.

The Portuguese manager finds himself without Lisandro Martinez or Amad Diallo as the pair have suffered ligament damage with their ACL and ankles respectively.

The duo were finding their feet under Amorim, however injury struck, ruling them out for the rest of the season.

Elsewhere Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, Altay Bayindir, Jonny Evans and Toby Collyer are also all ruled out, however are expecting to return soon.

With the sheer extent of stars ruled out through injury, suspensions are almost a double blow to Ruben Amorim, as Patrick Dorgu was sent of against Ipswich.

However, the left-wing-back is in the running to join the squad as they travel to Spain to take on Real Sociedad in the Europa League.

Patrick Dorgu and fellow defender eligible for Real Sociedad fixture

As Dorgu’s red card was picked up in the Premier League, it only applies to domestic games, meaning he’ll miss the fixtures against Arsenal and Leicester in the Premier League however is fair game to play in Europe.

Manchester United’s official website has confirmed that Dorgu was included in United’s updated squad submitted to UEFA on 6th February 2025, alongside fellow January signing Ayden Heaven.

Heaven finally got his debut, coming on off the bench as United took on Fulham in the fifth round of the FA Cup, unfortunately being knocked-out through penalties.

However, one man who is not eligible to play is Chido Obi who only signed for the academy last year, so is unable to be added to the list.

United will be hoping to secure a win to have the advantage going into the second leg at home, with the Europa League being the club’s only chance to secure European football next season.
