With this season’s Premier League campaign having already ended in disappointment, Ruben Amorim’s side sit 16th with two games left.
The Europa League offers both a chance for silverware and a route back into the Champions League.
Victory in Spain would mark United’s first European triumph since 2017, when they last won the Europa League under Jose Mourinho.
However, fans may not be able to celebrate success, the way usually planned.
Manchester United to hold barbecue instead of parade
Manchester United won’t hold an open-top bus parade if they win the UEFA Europa League final next week.
The club are instead opting for a more modest celebration at their Carrington training base.
As per The Times report, plans are already in place for Amorim’s squad to mark a potential triumph over Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao with a celebratory barbecue the following day, attended by players, staff, and families only.
United’s decision comes down to logistics, with the club’s tight schedule meaning a city-wide parade would be virtually impossible to organise.
They host a Premier League match shortly after the final.
Followed by a post-season tour of Asia that kicks off in Kuala Lumpur on May 28 and continues in Hong Kong just two days later.
Amorim’s side are also preparing for a quick turnaround into international duty, which would leave no room for large-scale celebrations even if they lift the trophy.

Tottenham, by contrast, are believed to have tentative plans for a parade in place should they win their first European trophy since 1984.
The last time United staged an open-top bus celebration was in 2013 to mark their 20th Premier League title and Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
An occasion that drew over 100,000 fans onto the streets of Manchester.
Despite the high stakes, staff have not been offered free tickets to the final and will instead be invited to a central Manchester viewing party.
Players and coaching staff are also being limited to just two complimentary tickets for family, which include return travel to Bilbao on the day of the match.

Each player can purchase up to ten extra tickets through UEFA.
However, travel arrangements for those guests must be handled independently.
If Amorim’s side win next Wednesday, it will cap an otherwise dismal season with a European trophy and a Champions League lifeline.
Just without the public fanfare that usually follows such success.
