Former Manchester United winger Antony has recently bagged a move to Real Betis where he spent the second half of last season on loan, ending his time at Old Trafford.

The Brazilian attacker experienced a resurgence in LaLiga after scoring nine goals and five assists in 26 games, only three less goals than in his 96 games for Manchester United.

Recently Antony spoke out about the “tough” spell at Old Trafford, opening up as a permanent Real Betis player, speaking about the move saying:  “Last night I spoke to my family in Brazil and I was crying with happiness, because only I know what I’ve experienced in Manchester.”

However, his family have also been going through a difficult time in Brazil, with his wife’s brother, Eduardo Jose Ananias da Silva, found dead in June.

Da Silva’s body was found at his home, wrapped in sheets with a towel over his mouth, with a series of valuables stollen, including around £1,350 in luxury watches, an iPhone 15, designer sneakers and documents for his motorcycle.

Whilst initially his death was recorded as “death pending clarification”, the toxicology reports warranted a “homicide” investigation with the results showing he was killed using Terbufos, a chemical found in rat poison, known locally as chumbinho.

Now, National World has reported that 43-year-old Glaicon Jose dos Santos Feitosa has been arrested for the murder, with the arrest taking place on 28th August in Jaboatao dos Guararapes, Pernambuco.

A search of Feitosa’s home and workplace in Cabo de Santo Agostinho resulted in the seizure of around £203 in cash and a mobile phone, however the motive for the murder is yet to be disclosed.
