Luke Shaw appears to be a step closer to getting back on the pitch, with the left-back returning to team training.

Video footage has been released by Sky Sports’ Ben Random who observed Manchester United’s training today.

The footage shows Luke Shaw and Christian Eriksen in the centre of the circle trying to intercept their teammates’ passes.

Fans will be pleased seeing the video, with several recently injured stars involved in the drill.

Whilst Eriksen and Shaw are at the centre of the exercise, having both just returned to team training, Leny Yoro can also be seen as part of the circle with Tyrell Malacia joining in too.

The saga of Luke Shaw and his many injuries

Shaw will be looking forward to being available for selection once more having spent a considerable time on the side-lines.

The England international has nearly gone a full calendar year without playing, having been injured at the start of the year.

The injury was sustained against Luton Town in their 2-1 away win during last season’s Premier League campaign. Shaw was substituted off for Victor Lindelof just before half-time, and apart from a brief cameo at Euro 2024, Shaw hasn’t played since February.

However, this February injury wasn’t the only one of the year, with Shaw having to be ruled out through injury twice last season prior to the Luton game.

Although Shaw appeared to be recovered enough to participate at the European Championships, the left-back picked up yet another muscle injury in August, ruling him out for the start of the season.
