Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United has long been uncertain.
United are preparing to move Rashford on in January after the forward expressed a desire for a new challenge.
AC Milan, once leading the race, have shifted focus, leaving Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund to battle for the England international.
Rashford prefers a move to Barcelona, but their financial struggles under La Liga’s 1:1 rule complicate matters.
Dortmund are advancing quickly in talks, adding urgency for Barcelona to finalise their plans.
However, fresh news has come to light that could suggest a U-turn in Rashford’s future whereabouts.

He has been pictured by many journalists present at training this morning.
Amorim has had to face a lot of questions in regards to Rashford’s future over the past month.
The Englishman has been a huge part of United’s first team, since Jose Mourinho’s tenure.
It has been a tough ride for the 27-year-old, with patterns of inconsistencies throughout.
He netted 30+ goals in all competitions under Erik ten Hag, but hasn’t looked the same player since.
If Rashford is to stay at United, it would pose huge questions as to where he’d fit in Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.
Amorim’s formation requires two central attacking midfielders, with width provided from the wing-backs.
Rashford certainly wouldn’t be happy playing at wing-back and hasn’t looked comfortable playing as a striker over the years.
Some will remember Jose Mourinho in 2020, speaking in Sky Sports studio about Rashford’s difficulty in terms of his position.
If he is to stay at the club, he may have to accept a bit-part role.
