The chair-designate of the Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) for the Old Trafford Regeneration project is Lord Coe, who oversaw London’s 2012 Olympic and Paralympic bid.
A task force established by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the owner of United, to consider stadium options for United as part of a broader revitalisation of the neighbourhood was previously chaired by the former IOC president.
A new 100,000-seater stadium build would create a stadium that is the largest in the UK.
This would unfortunately mean the end of the infamous Old Trafford stadium.

This project will be very costly due to not only the size of the new stadium but also with how big the area around the stadium will be.
Lord Coe is now revealed to be seeking investors for this development.
As per the Daily Mail, Lord Coe and club executives were at a conference called The Placemaking: Investing in Sports Real Estate in the UK, which was hosted by the British Consulate-General at Rockefeller Plaza on Friday afternoon.
The new 100,000-seat stadium itself will require private investment, even though United is optimistic that public funds will be available for the larger revitalisation of the neighbourhood surrounding Old Trafford.

When building what Sir Jim Ratcliffe calls the “Wembley of the North,” United has drawn inspiration from a number of American sporting developments, including the Chicago Bears’ Burnham Park development and the stunning SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
The club own an expansive amount of land around Old Trafford, which they feel is underutilised and could be repurposed for housing, leisure, business, education, driving investment and jobs, and improving the environment.
This project is separate from the redevelopment of Carrington, which is set to be revealed imminently.
