Manchester United see many players step-up from the academy to the first-team on a yearly basis as dozens of potential future stars from around the country aim to make their mark on the United team.
Recently, we have seen names such as Tyler Fredricson, Toby Collyer and Harry Amass make the step-up to the first team with Fredricson even breaking a Premier League record by winning more duels than any other Manchester United centre-back on his Premier League debut for the club.
Furthermore, Amass made his debut and was able to earn a call-up to England’s Under-20s team recently, highlighting his progress during his time at Old Trafford.
Now, with Harry Amass joining Sheffield Wednesday on loan, he will aim to continue his progress.
But, Premier League sides such as Manchester United can often be cautious about news being broken too soon, especially in reference to younger prospects as Nathan Salt found out personally.
Speaking on the MailSport podcast ‘Whistleblowers’, MailSport’s Manchester United correspondent commented about the club threatening him.
During his segment on the show, Nathan Salt was asked “what is the best Manchester United or most controversial Manchester United story you’ve broken?”
In response to this question, the journalist stated his breaking of the news that Harry Amass would make his first-team United debut attracted the interest of the Red Devils who threatened to hunt Salt and all the people he spoke to down.
The correspondent added that Manchester United were concerned about helping their opponents through the leaking of team news.
With this news revealed, United’s intentions to keep team news under wraps is arguably clear.
Furthermore, the revealing of this news arguably shows the extent that the Red Devils will go to to keep their most secretive and important news under wraps.
