Javi Guerra has been a name that has emerged as a target for Manchester United in recent time.

Guerra is a young, versatile Spanish midfielder known for his strong all-around game and impressive passing range.

He excels at linking play between defence and attack, making key passes, and is a capable ball-winner with good tackling and interceptions.

With the Red Devils looking for a midfielder, Guerra could be the perfect option.

Casemiro has been linked with a move away.

Toby Collyer is expected to go on loan this summer.

This will open up an opportunity for the Red Devils to pursue a midfielder.

However, the Guerra deal is one that is complicated, as Valencia is pushing for him to stay.

And now a new update has emerged in the situation.

According to Club Marca, Javi Guerra and Valencia have continued to negotiate on the renewal proposal.

Valencia’s offer consists of drafting a new contract until 2029 (ending in 2027) with an improvement that triples the player’s salary.

This will be seen as a blow for Manchester United, as an agreement to stay is seemingly getting closer for Guerra.

It will also force the Red Devils to look at other options, having made contact previously for the Spanish midfielder.

One reason he would be perfect for Ruben Amorim’s side is his versatility and incredible technical ability.

He is suited to play in the 8 role but can also do a job playing deeper, offering cover for Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo.

He possesses a wide passing range, capable of short, intricate passes to maintain possession and longer passes to switch play and create attacking opportunities.

The Spaniard is also known for his accurate through balls and crosses.

With a contract agreement edging closer with Valencia, it would be seen as a huge blow for the Red Devils.
