This summer, Manchester United have had a clear focus on rejuvenating their attack, signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
The new attacking trio replace the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, who seemingly have no place in Ruben Amorim’s squad.
However, the club’s attack isn’t the only area of concern for Ruben Amorim, with a major dilemma for the goalkeeping department as the 2025/26 Premier League season is just around the corner.
Heading into the summer transfer window, a new goalkeeper signing looked to be on the cards as Andre Onana continued to struggle in goal for a second season.
Whilst an upgrade for Onana was looking to be considered, a replacement for back-up keeper also looked to be needed as the Turkey international was reportedly looking for a move away to secure more first-team football.
However, the start of the pre-season saw Andre Onana pick up a hamstring injury, with the Cameroon international only just fit to return, with Bayindir stepping in to cover him.

As such, The Times has reported that Ruben Amorim is heading into the new season with a major dilemma, go with unfit and unprepared Onana, or inexperienced Bayindir for their opening game at Old Trafford against Arsenal.
Whilst Onana was routinely problematic last season, the four times Bayindir stepped in to replace him in the league saw United defeated on three occasions.
As such, Bayindir isn’t a reliable back-up for Onana, which is causing even further issues with recruiting a new goalkeeper.
With both Onana and Bayindir having their issues, The Red Devils are still undecided on whether to recruit a replacement for the Cameroon international to step into the first-squad, with contact for Gianluigi Donnarumma to fill this slot, or to replace Bayindir with a promising young keeper like Senne Lammens.
The Red Devils are exploring the option of a final behind-closed-doors friendly to give Onana a chance to get a game under his belt, however, Amorim still has a major decision to make as he prepares he team to take on Arsenal.
