Jackie Kay is leaving Manchester United after nearly 30 years at the club.

Her departure is part of an ongoing restructuring process under INEOS.

Kay joined United in 1995 as an Executive Assistant, supporting the Board through a period of historic success under Sir Alex Ferguson.

In 2013, she moved to Carrington and worked closely with several managers.

For the last nine years, she led first-team operations before taking the title of Head of Team Operations in October 2023.

A Manchester United spokesperson told TGG: “We thank Jackie for everything she has done for the club and wish her the very best for the future.

“She will always be welcome at the club.

“In all her roles, she has demonstrated unwavering commitment and played a key part in the day-to-day life of Manchester United.”

United still have a Director of Football Operations in David Harrison, who joined from Everton in February 2023.

INEOS Head of Sport Sir Dave Brailsford and Technical Director Jason Wilcox are overseeing a performance overhaul at the club.

There is also a wider effort to reduce overall staff numbers.

Before INEOS arrived in February 2024, United had more than 1,100 employees.

The group, which holds a 29% stake and controls football operations, initially aimed to cut 250 jobs.

Now, another 100 positions are at risk after United announced £300m in losses over the past three years.

United fans have grown to become annoyed with INEOS’ decision making.

It doesn’t help that the club are also struggling on the pitch.

Should Ruben Amorim’s side fail to make European positions this year, the club will take a huge hit in revenue from next season.

That could also lead to further job cuts.
