Earlier today, Manchester United unveiled their travelling squad for their pre-season tour of America as they prepare to take part in the Premier League Summer Series.
The tour will see them take on West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton, adding to their preparation against Premier League sides, having recently drawn 0-0 with newly promoted Leeds United in Sweden.
However, the release of the travelling squad also revealed that key defender Harry Maguire was not set to be on the plane to travel Stateside.

The former England international has been a vital part of Amorim’s back three since the Portuguese manager arrived at Old Trafford, even grabbing some vital goals like his game-winner in United’s 5-4 victory over Lyon in the Europa League Quarter-Final.
As such, concerns were instantly raised that his omission from the travelling squad was down to injury, however these were quickly dispelled, with the centre-back remaining in England due to personal matters.
However, the man himself, Harry Maguire, has now taken to social media to respond to the situation.

Posting on his Instagram story, Maguire commented: “All is fine now. I will be travelling tomorrow to meet up with the squad. Thanks for your concern” with an American flag and smile emoji.
Clearly whatever the reason for him to remain in England has been resolved, allowing him to link up with his teammates only a day later.
This is a massive boost for Amorim to have one of his key defenders fully involved in the pre-season preparations, ready for what is an incredibly important year for the club, with their need to bounce back from last season’s 15th place finish.
