Former Premier League manager says he’s a better manager than Ruben Amorim

Manchester United have one game left to salvage their season.

Ruben Amorim’s side are gearing up for the Europa League final against Tottenham, with a Champions League spot on the line and pressure mounting like never before.

Domestically, United’s campaign has been nothing short of disastrous, with the Red Devils currently sitting 16th in the Premier League and registering one of their lowest points totals in recent history.

Injuries, inconsistency, and tactical confusion have plagued the club throughout Amorim’s first year in charge, and questions are now being asked about whether the Portuguese coach is the right man to lead United forward.

And now, a bold voice has joined the debate — with one former Premier League manager suggesting even he could do better at Old Trafford.

Sean Dyche, appearing on Stick to Football alongside Gary Neville, didn’t hold back when asked about Amorim’s struggles at United.

The ex-Everton and Burnley boss was quick to point out the flaws in Amorim’s approach, suggesting that the current United squad would benefit far more from simplicity and structure than the complex system being enforced by the Portuguese coach.

“He better start winning some games then.

“Pretty quickly in my opinion,” Dyche stated firmly.

“I think if I went there and played my way I’d win more games.

“I’m not just saying that. 4-4-2, basic rules and principles – there are some good players here.

“You don’t have to over-teach everyone.

“He’s been there a while now, he needs to start bringing some wins I think.”

Sean Dyche, who famously guided Burnley to a seventh-place finish and kept Everton up amid a points deduction, claimed he would get more from this group of players than Amorim currently is.

While the idea of Dyche in the Old Trafford dugout is unlikely, his remarks highlight just how far United have fallen this season — and how little patience remains among pundits and fans.

Amorim still has a shot at redemption in the Europa League final.

But should he fall short, voices like Dyche’s may become harder to ignore.
