Over the last 12 months, Manchester United have seen a significant number of staff leave the club, either by opting to leave or as a part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting measures.
The INEOS owner has been very hands-on with his management of the football operations at Old Trafford since taking charge, with one of his INEOS right-hand men, Sir Dave Brailsford, being a key player in the reorganisation of the United hierarchy.
This saw a significant amount of the club’s directors change hands, with Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox and Dan Ashworth all arriving at the club, albeit for a limited time in Ashworth’s case.

However, the INEOS owner also had a massive cull of staff, making around 450 redundancies and removing a range of high-level roles, with others opting to leave amid the wind range of redundancies.
Now, The Telegraph has reported that Tottenham Hotspur have made the most of some of these departures, hiring Altius8 agency, a firm founded by some of the staff axed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The agency is fronted by Victoria Timpson and also includes Ali Edge and Florence Lafaye, all of which were big parts of United’s major commercial shit deals with companies like TeamViewer and Snapdragon.

Edge was with United for over 14 years, holding roles such as Head of Partnerships, Director of Brand and Club Marketing, and Director of Alliances and Partnerships, whilst Lafaye spent 12 years with The Red Devils as Global Sponsorship Sales Director and Commercial Director, with both departing under INEOS.
Timpson however was the longest serving of the trio with United, having been with the club for 16 years between 2008 and 2024, holding high level roles such as Head of Sponsorship Sales, Chief Revenue Officer and CEO Alliances and Partnerships, having boosted the club’s commercial revenues by 17% in her final year.
Timpson was a driving force between some of United’s major contracts, like the £235 million TeamViewer deal during covid, however the German tech company opted to withdraw a year into the five year contract.
Other key deals under Timpson’s stewardship include; IT giant DXC, blockchain platform Tezos, the Microsoft PCs range CoPilot+, cosmetics multinational Estee Lauder, and Malaysia Airlines
Now, under Altius8, the group are looking to support Tottenham Hotspur in the same way they boosted United’s revenues, supporting a wide range of sponsorship assets, potentially including a naming rights of the new stadium, nearly six years after the £1.2 billion stadium as opened.
