Wrexham have been one of the clubs at the centre of conversations in the footballing world following Ryan Reynolds’ and Rob McElhenney’s co-purchase of the club in November 2020.
Since their purchase of the club, the Red Dragons have risen up the football pyramid from the National League, where they had finished 19th in the 2019-20 season, to the EFL Championship where the Welsh outfit currently sit 21st in the table.
Along the way, the club has experienced immense change both on the field with its players changing season on season and off the field with plans relating to a new stadium progressing recently.
Furthermore, one of the aspects of the club that has arguably changed a lot is the amount of celebrities, former football players and other individuals that are seen at the Stok Racecourse on a weekly basis.
Previously, celebrities such as Will Ferrell – who himself watched a Manchester United in Sweden over the summer -, Hugh Jackman, and Paul Rudd have all being spotted at the ground.
Now, news has emerged that a former Red Devils player was Wrexham’s game against Queens Park Rangers which QPR won by a score-line of 3-1.
As seen in the image below, former United player Phil Jones was present at the Red Dragons’ game in the Owner’s Box alongside Ryan Reynolds.
Nathan Salt, MailSport’s Manchester United correspondent, revealed that Jones was invited as a guest by Wrexham CEO Michael Williamson.
But, even with the Phil Jones not playing for the Red Devils, he has remained a part of the club and even volunteered with United’s Under-18s as a coach last season.
