It has been a decade of change at Manchester United.

Numerous managers have come and gone, with an abundance of money spent.

Manager have also come and gone over the years.

Louis van Gaal came and left just couple years after.

As did Jose Mourinho, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as replacement.

Solskjaer was of course, United manager for over two years before the eventual decline in results and performances.

He was later sacked in 2022, but has now made his return to management.

As Fabrizio Romano has reported on X, Solskjaer has now been unveiled as new Besiktas head coach.

He has signed a two year deal until 2026.

The 51-year-old famously guided United to a stunning Champions League comeback against Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.

Solskjaer was given the permanent job in March 2019 after a strong start as caretaker manager.

United finished second in the Premier League during the 2020/21 season, with a strong defensive foundation.

He led the team to the Europa League final in 2021 but lost to Villarreal in a dramatic penalty shootout.

Despite signing stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho, United struggled during his final season.

His reign ended in November 2021 following a string of poor results, including a 4-1 loss to Watford.

Solskjaer remains a beloved figure at Old Trafford for his legendary playing career and respectful management style.

His tenure is often remembered for stabilising the club in short-term and bringing smiles back on faces in and around the club.

Whether he goes on to bring smiles back on faces at Besiktas will be fascinating, considering no Premier League club aimed to hire the Norwegian since his United spell.
